Chandigarh University accepts JEE Main 2026 scores directly, mainly for scholarship allocation, but it also conducts a separate admission test called CUCET. Students with valid JEE Main scores can submit their ranks during admission to be considered for JEE-based scholarships, which are offered to up to 5% of the total intake seats in each engineering program. However, for students who have not appeared in JEE or wish to improve their admission chances, CUCET serves as an equally valid and official pathway. Both routes lead to the same academic programs, faculty, and placement opportunities. This dual system ensures flexibility and wid

Students with a good JEE score often prefer Computer Science Engineering (CSE) and its specialised branches at Chandigarh University, such as AI & ML, Data Science, Cyber Security, and Cloud Computing. These branches are highly industry-aligned and benefit from strong academic-industry collaborations. A good JEE rank can also help students secure scholarships while opting for these high-demand programs. Apart from CSE, branches like Electronics & Communication, Mechanical, and Aerospace Engineering are also popular choices for JEE-qualified students due to CU's advanced labs, project-based learning, and strong

Yes, students can apply to Chandigarh University immediately after JEE Main Phase 1 results. The university accepts Phase 1 scores for initial counseling, merit recognition, and scholarship consideration. Candidates can also update their application later with Phase 2 scores to improve their merit standing. Early application provides benefits such as priority seat allocation, early branch selection, and potential financial advantages, especially in high-demand B.E. programs like CSE, AI, and Data Science. Chandigarh University's dual-phase approach ensures flexibility, professionalism, and student convenience, allowing applicants to op

Chandigarh University follows a holistic admission approach, giving importance to both Class 12 performance and JEE Main scores, depending on the route chosen. For JEE-qualified students, the JEE score primarily determines merit-based scholarships and priority counseling, while Class 12 marks ensure eligibility verification. For students not appearing in JEE, Class 12 performance, particularly in PCM subjects, becomes the primary eligibility criterion, alongside CUCET scores for CSE programs. This dual-focus system allows students with strong 12th marks but no JEE score to secure admission, while rewarding JEE participants with merit a

A degree and a diploma both lead to engineering careers, but they serve different goals.Degree (B.Tech/B.E.) is better if you want deeper technical knowledge, higher-paying jobs, campus placements, and future options like M.Tech, MBA, or research roles.Diploma is better if you want to start working early, focus on practical skills, or enter industry as a technician or supervisor. In simple terms:If you want long-term career growth, choose a degree. If you want quick job-oriented training, a diploma works. Both paths can lead to engineering — it depends on your goals.
