Chandigarh University has a healthy and clear admission policy that weighs in your 12th board marks, JEE Main score and your performance in the CUCET in your quest for admission in the field of engineering. While the 12th marks are mainly used for basic eligibility purposes- you will only be considered for admission if you score high enough, but this is also factored in while deciding the overall merit and scholarship- your performance in the JEE Main is weighed more while allotting the students and determining scholarship, especially for the niche and competitive branches while you still need to write the CUCET for most students so th

Students who attempted the JEE Main should start preparing for the JEE Advanced entrance examination if they want admission at IITs. Those who score above the 98th percentile in JEE Main session 2 should start to study for the JEE Advanced exam.
Students who get around the 95th and 98th percentiles should attempt to solve more mock tests and previous year question papers to increase their chances of attaining a good enough rank in the JEE Advanced.

There's no fixed “marks” cutoff for Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology — it works on percentile/rank, and it changes every year.
Rough idea based on trends:
- CSE / COE → ~95–97+ percentile
- ENC / ECE → ~90–95 percentile
- Mechanical / Electrical → ~85–92 percentile
- Civil / Chemical / Biotech → ~70–85 percentile
Marks vary each paper, so focus on percentile. Also, Thapar has a board marks quota, so strong 12th % can help.
You don't need a perfect score — mid 80s–90s percentile can still get you in.

No, candidates who have a valid JEE Mains score are not required to appear for the KIET Entrance Exam to qualify for KIET Ghaziabad BTech admissions. Candidates can simply enter their JEE Mains score during the KIET Ghaziabad BTech application process and skip directly to the evaluation rounds.
