You need to apply for admission by filling the forms, which are just almost out of Universities, after filling it, you have to clear entrance exam and for that you have to prepare - reasoning, Aptitude, GK, English (Basic).
Once you will clear, you will be a journalism student. P. S. I would suggest you to fill forms for 2 or 3 universities/colleges, so that after result you can choose the best one.

Hi Dear, It is not at all equivalent with each other. Mass comm is a very wide course which helps you to explore more and more.
