To get admission into the M.Tech course at KAU, candidates must complete their BTech/ BE in Agricultural/ Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Energy & Environmental Engineering with an aggregate of 60% (the eligible BE/ BTEch degree can differ according to the specialisation selected by the student. Further, for the selection process, the university considers the relevant scores of ICAR AIEEA, and there are chances that the university might consider the university's in-house entrance exam.

The selection process for the MBA course at Kerala Agricultural University includes meeting the eligibility criteria and a valid score in the entrance examination, followed by GD and PI. Candidates must have completed their professional degrees from State Agricultural Universities or ICAR-recognised deemed universities and have a minimum OGPA of 7.0 out of 10 (or 6.5 for SC/ST candidates). OR at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) in all classes starting from SSLC (Class 10) onwards under the traditional system. Additionally, the selection is based on KMAT/ CMAT/ CAT scores, followed by a GD and PI.
