To become a teacher in India, it is very important for candidates to have a Bachelors degree in education (B.Ed). One can also pursue a Masters degree in the same (M. Ed) to add to their qualification and to increase ones employability. Ed. Diploma in Education (D. Ed. ) is a 2 year certified teacher training course after 12th that will equip you with the knowledge required to teach at elementary schools (as nursery school teachers). The total number of seats as per 2020-21 update is 386 in the MA English course of Delhi University. The total seats in through Entrance-based admissions in MA English are : 193 only. The total seats through Merit-based admissions in MA English are :193 only.
Admission Process:
1.Register and Apply
Interested candidates can apply online with required information.
There are 2 modes of admission - Merit or Direct and Entrance exam.
Candidates who have not graduated from University of Delhi, have to apply through Entrance mode.
Candidates who have graduated from University of Delhi can choose to apply through Merit mode or Merit + Entrance mode or Entrance only mode (must have secured a minimum aggregate of 60% in graduation to apply through Merit mode or Merit + Entrance mode).
2.Merit Screening
Admission is based on the marks obtained in the entrance test or marks obtained in graduation depending on the mode of admission.

Colleges like DU and Loyola college take admissions through merit and colleges like Christ University, Xavier Colleges, etc. Conduct their own entrance exam. Some of the institutes that offer B.A. English courses are Loyola College, St. Xaviers College, Christ University, Fergusson College, etc. The average fee to pursue B.A. English may range around INR 2,300 to INR 2,00,000 depending upon the institute.
