Yes, with an LPUNEST rank of 4444, there are reasonable chances of getting CSE at LPU, although the exact counseling round depends on seat availability and competition in that particular admission cycle. Generally, highly preferred branches like CSE fill faster in the initial rounds, so students with ranks around this range may get seats in later counseling rounds if seats remain available. Many students also get upgraded branches during subsequent rounds based on vacant seats and merit movement. LPU's CSE program is quite popular because of its strong placement record, coding culture, industry tie-ups, and internship opportunities. Co

Students with similar scores generally meet the eligibility criteria comfortably, and your academic performance is also very good. Based on scores like these, many students also become eligible for scholarships, which can significantly reduce tuition fees. If you want a university with good cybersecurity exposure, strong placements, industry tie-ups, and better overall brand value, then both Lovely Professional University and Chandigarh University are good options — but for Cybersecurity, Chandigarh University (CU) has a slight edge overall, while LPU is better for campus exposure and opportunities.
Parameters | Chandigarh University | LPU |
|---|---|---|
NIRF Ranking 2025 | 31 | 48 |
Cybersecurity Collaboration | Collaboration with IBM | Tie-up with CompTIA (Computing Technology Industry Association) |
Tuition Fee | INR 13.6 lakh | INR 16.4 lakh |
the highest Package | INR 59.9 LPA | INR 54.75 LPA |
Exam Accepted | CUCET | LPU NEST |
So, choose your college wisely as both college is good for placement prospects. However, no private university can guarantee a huge package to everyone. Your placement will mainly depend on Skills, Internships, Certifications, and Coding practice.

Yeah so, with 194 in JEE Main paper 2 and then 97% in 12th, you are pretty much in the eligible zone for B.Arch admission at LPU, because LPU actually considers JEE Paper-2 ( or NATA ) marks, and for eligibility they set a minimum of 60% in 10+2 with Mathematics , like you are above that. So just go ahead with the online application, upload your JEE Paper-2 score along with your 12th mark sheets, then do the document verification process, after that counselling / seat confirmation, and most likely you'll get the offer letter. Also sometimes students land in merit scholarship brackets based on both your JEE and 12th performance, s

The CSBS program is designed with a mix of computer science and business subjects, so it does help students understand startup culture in a practical way. At LPU, students get exposure through industry projects, business case studies, hackathons, and teamwork based assignments that improve problem solving and communication skills. The course is more suitable for students interested in technology with management understanding. Startup success still depends on individual creativity, consistency, and real market exposure beyond classroom learning.

Yes, CSBS students can participate in hackathons and coding competitions at LPU. The program includes coding, analytics, and business problem solving, so students usually get opportunities to join technical events, innovation challenges, and team based competitions. Many students take part through coding clubs, workshops, and university events. One advantage is exposure to real industry style projects and teamwork. The course is slightly more business oriented than core CSE, so students interested in advanced programming often need extra practice outside class as well.

In the CSBS program, case studies are usually connected with real business and technology situations instead of only coding theory. Topics often include digital banking systems, e commerce operations, data based marketing, supply chain management, customer analytics, and startup business models. At LPU, students also work on projects where technical decisions are linked with business impact, which helps in understanding how companies solve practical problems and improve services using technology.

Lateral entry students at Lovely Professional University (LPU) receive excellent placement opportunities in CSE and related fields. Companies generally do not differentiate between regular and lateral entry students because both groups show strong coding skills and project experience and internship experience and communication abilities. LPU CSE placement drives attract recruiters from Amazon and Microsoft and Capgemini and Cognizant and TCS, who have helped many lateral entry students obtain high-paying jobs through their dedication to skill development.
