Yes, you are eligible for NET/SET exam. Candidate must have scored at least 55% aggregate marks (50% for SC/ST, OBC- NCL, PwD) in Masters Degree or equivalent examination from university recognised by UGC in Humanities (including languages) and Social Science, Computer Science and Applications, Electronic Science etc. To be eligible for UGC NET 2019.

Eligibility for MA Economics is:
Interested aspirants for Economics degree must fulfil the below-mentioned eligibility criteria.
BA (Hons) in Economics subject a minimum aggregate score of 50% at the level of graduation.
Although, the eligibility criteria may differ for entrance exam procedure and merit-based admission process. As in Delhi University, the eligibility for merit-based admissions is aggregate 50% in BA (Hons) Economics done from DU only.

Yes, you can still become a lecturer by qualifying the NET exam after completion of your M.A. It does not matter if you have completed your MA from Open University, all you require is that university should be a recognized university and you have completed the post-graduation with a minimum required marks. NTA conducts the UGC NET exam twice a year for candidates who want to make a career in lectureship. After qualifying the UGC NET exam you can directly become an assistant professor in any of the top UGC recognized universities across India.
