Student life at MCC, Chennai.
Placements: Around 35% of students are placed in my course or even less for that matter. I don't know anything about the top recruiting companies but they are certainly not big names, only tech firms and just some small tech firms. Mostly, startups will have low-paying jobs but very heavy workloads. The average package is around 8 LPA.
Infrastructure: We have great facilities and infrastructure. Labs, smart classrooms, and new buildings are there. Unfortunately, I am not a college hostel president so I don't know much about that. But I know the annual hostel fee is around Rs 44,000 and with an additional mess fee of Rs 6,000 per month which may vary monthly.
Faculty: Teachers are pretty helpful and knowledgeable. They are really qualified too. Curriculum is slightly outdated but still somewhat relevant. It won't make students industry-ready. None of the degrees do that nowadays but MCC degree does the trick.

The love towards Madras Christian College.
Placements: Mostly the percentage of students placed is around 80% in our college. The average package is 3 LPA, and the highest is 12 LPA. The recruiters are Amazon, HCL, Infosys, Goldman Sachs, Dell, and many more companies from all over the world. There are internships too.
Infrastructure: The facilities are very well maintained in the college. There are enough classrooms to accommodate every student in the college. There are sufficient lab facilities available in the college. There is a big library for the students to read and write.
Faculty: Faculty members in the college are very nice and friendly to us in every aspect. They will help and mentor us in each step. Faculty members are mostly doctorates. The curriculum prepared by them is so advanced and well developed according to the changing developments happening in the world.

Reality of MCC - Madras Christian College.
Placements: About 70% of students get placed in the big 4 companies every year. Top recruiting companies like big 4 companies like Deloitte, KPMG, etc., visit the college for placements. The average package is 10 LPA, and the highest package is based on the skills we have.
Infrastructure: Madras Christian College is a very old college. It was built around 187 years ago and it is known for it is old type of building. Madras Christian College has 6 hostels, 3 for boys and 3 for girls. The college canteen is the worst and has been sealed twice.
Faculty: Staff members are not good. Mainly the principal fits for nothing. He is the one who brings the college's name down. Semester exams are held twice a year. Semester exams are not difficult but still, students fail.

It has a great program for the history course.
Placements: The placement rate at our college is decent with around 65% of the students got jobs and research opportunities. The highest package was 8 LPA, and the lowest package was 3 LPA. The average package was 5 LPA. Top recruiting companies for our course are museums, archives, government institutes, and educational organisations. Many students also prepare for UPSC SSC and other competitive exams. About 60% of the students got internships in research institutes and heritage sites.
Infrastructure: The history department has precious classrooms. The library has historical books, research journals, and access to the digital archive. The campus has good Wi-Fi, which helps with research. Hostels are clean and provide a peaceful environment for studying. The mess food is decent. There are sports facilities, medical centers, and a reading room, which makes campus life comfortable for students.
Faculty: Faculty members are not capable and supportive. They are always ready to help students with research and assignments. They are easily able to solve doubts of students. They make history engaging by encouraging discussion and debates. The course curriculum covers ancient medieval and modern history along with histography and research methods making it relevant for academics and competitive exams. Exams are not too difficult if we study consistently. This program is ideal for those passionate about history and looking for careers in research teaching and heritage management.

MCC : The hency! Students of MCC are called gentlemen of MCC.
Placements: We get good placements. It provides campus interviews and training. It also provides good internship opportunities. Some students were placed in top companies. Many students are placed in HR and other roles. We have to perform well in our academics so that helps us for good placements.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is best compared to other MCCs. It is one of the oldest colleges ever, which was built by Miller. We have MRF Innovation Park, where we have a Korean cafe. The main thing is our gutters are the place where we stay the whole day and we chill.
Faculty: In the social work department, all the teachers are very friendly, and caring. They also help a lot with our career. They maintain their professionalism, and at the same time, they treat us like their own children. It conducts 3 ICA and in the 2nd ICA, we are assigned some assignments. At last, we have ESE exams, and they are not that much different if students follow their notes and lectures.
Other: I chose social work just because I was curious, but when I came to MCC and saw the culture and traditions, it stunned me. The teaching and the way they mingle with students help a lot in their careers. There is no partiality or dominance. Here I feel like my home. For sure once students enter MCC then there is no back.

B.A. in Political Science - Batch of 2025
3.8
3Placements4Infrastructure4Faculty4Crowd & Campus Life4Value for Money
Culture at the core: A college with a long legacy.
Placements: In my Department (Political Science), most students go for higher studies. Only a few opt for placements. Anyhow, internship and placement opportunities are actively circulated among students from their second year. The placement cell in our college does a good job of conducting seminars on the same for students from all departments. Campus recruitment is also available. But mostly only the students from departments like BBA and B. Com will make use of it.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are average. The college has a history of over 175 years. This means that most of the buildings are old. However constant upgrades and additions are made to the campus. A very recent addition is the MRF Innovation Park. A smart classroom is set up in almost all classrooms and departments. There is a separate building for the media and communication departments. The syllabus for Political Science covers almost all topics and the faculty members are also amazing. The quality of the syllabus and faculty members will vary with departments. The hostel in MCC is also very nice. We follow a student-run system and hence we call our hostels halls. We have six Residential halls. Food in the hall is average. Students are encouraged to participate in a lot of cultural and sports events that the college or hall may organize. Residents have more events and opportunities inside the college compared to non-residents. Athletes get free accommodation in halls. But the college facilities need an upgrade.
Faculty: Political Science department faculty members are very knowledgeable and the way they interact with students is also appreciable. All of them are alumni of our college. They have an in-depth knowledge of the subject. They also provide the students the space to express their views and opinions.
Other: MCC is known for its cultural activities and its liberal culture. We have over 30 departments and 6 Residential halls. Each department and hall has its events. The College Cultural Event is Deepwoods. Apart from this we also have other events like aurora, hall meet, etc. This means that the campus will be active throughout the year.
