Absolutely, you can take admission in M.Sc Botany after completing your B.Sc Agriculture degree. Most universities consider a bachelor's degree in a relevant biological Science discipline for M.Sc Botany eligibility, and a B.Sc Agriculture fits well within this scope. As agriculture studies encompass plant biology, genetics, and ecology, you actually have a strong foundational knowledge that aligns closely with botany. Generally, the main requirement is that you must have secured fifty percent or above in your undergraduate programme from a recognised university, though some institutes may set the bar slightly higher.

With  score of 178 marks in CUET PG SCQP25, you may be eligible for admission in reputable government colleges like Central University of Punjab, BHU, or University of Allahabad for MSc in Plant Biotechnology or Botany, particularly under reserved categories.
It may seem a it tough for the unreserved categories but others do have a chance.
You should also keep looking at the merit list released by the colleges.

For the regular full-time M.Sc. Botany program at Bharathidasan University (main campus, Tiruchirappalli) for the 2025–2026 session, no separate entrance exam is conducted. Admission is based on undergraduate (B.Sc.) merit, and the process is handled through their official online admission portal .
