As per the information available, Coimbatore Institute Of Technology is an autonomous institute and is affiliated to Anna University. It is Grade 'A' accredited by NAAC .

Gujarat University admissions for a majority of courses are done on the basis of merit determined through candidates marks scored in the qualifying examination. Admission process of the varsity also requires candidates to appear for a counselling session after the merit list is released. As far as I know, there is no entrance test for this course.

There are many exams conducted for admission in M.Sc. These include IIT JAM also. Various universities conduct their own exam for admission in M.Sc.
