Know the updated syllabus, marking, paper pattern etc. Start with the books of class 11th and class 12th NCERT, this will help you with basic concepts and understanding. A reference book called "Intro. To psychology" by Robert Baron is a must. It covers basics as well covers all aspects of psychology. Hello Subhajit, You need to check whether the university is UGC/ government approved or not? The candidates who have completed post-graduation from recognised university are allowed to apply for the exam. You can find the list of the approved universities and name of the fake universities at the official UGC Website. The candidates of distance learning are also eligible to apply for the exam. Also the candidates can choose the subject of their post-graduation to apply for UGC NET or its related subjects only.

Once you fulfill the eligibility, you need to check and follow the admission process.
