The M.Sc of North Bengal University and Siliguri Institute of Technology (SIT) does not offer the same academic focus. NBU is a most traditional university with more research opportunities, academic depth, and a diverse range of specializations in sciences. SIT is more focused on technical education compared to NBU, which may not have the same research-driven environment for the M.Sc. If a wider and more academic and research-based programme attracted you, then NBU would likely be the better option.

In general, NBU conducts its own entrance exam for admission into M.Sc programs. Except for a few M.Sc programs, all other M.Sc programs by NBU require a score obtained through NBU's own entrance exam. These entrance exams will usually be subjects for candidates based on the syllabus from their undergraduate studies.

Moreover, some admission programs may also be based on the results of the following national or state-level examinations:

GATE (for M.Sc in Physics or any other related course)
CSIR NET/JRF (for the research-based M.Sc course)

The cutoff for M.Sc. admission in 2023 at MLSU (Mohanlal Sukhadia University) will vary according to each specialisation and the number of candidates. Traditionally, cutoff for admission into an M.Sc. degree would depend on :-

i. The aggregate performance of the candidate in the qualifier exam (B.Sc.).
ii. The category of the candidate (General, OBC, SC, ST, etc.).
iii. The seat availability and student demand for a particular course.

As it is generally, M.Sc. in some way is better than B.Sc. with respect to the placement opportunities in Mohanlal Sukhadia University:

Higher Positions: By virtue of being a postgraduate, M.Sc. generally goes on to hold positions in various specialised roles as well as higher pay slotted positions as compared to a B.Sc. They would have better opportunities.

Every department, has an interview in Loyola. The cut-off marks is 45–55 is sufficient, but they look at your calibre to the particular subject you're opting for. Good marks are always an advantage, for the getting through any place where you'll be regarded well. But Loyola is an institution which creates new personalities.
