Mtech admissions at NIT Patna are GATE score based. Students have to apply only for GATE. No separate application form is released by the institute.

A minimum of 60% marks in BTech is required for MTech at NIT Patna. Additionally, aspirants must hold the relevant documents as well during the admission and form filling. These documents are required for verification purposes.

IIIT Kota is a good institute to pursue the MTech programme. It offers a two-year M.Tech programme spread over four semesters across two specialisations. Admission to this course is based on a GATE score, followed by CCMT counselling. Eligible students seeking admission must qualify for the entrance exam for admission to IIIT Kota. The institute offers more than an 80% placement rate. The highest package and average package stood at INR 53.6 LPA and INR 14.6 LPA, respectively.

NIT Patna is ranked 55 among top Engineering institutes in the country in the NIRF 2024 rankings. As per the media reports, a total of 639 offers were made during placements 2023 as of now. The highest package and average package offered during NIT Patna placements 2023 stood at INR 52 LPA and INR 13.30 LPA, respectively. In addition, the the lowest package offered so far was INR 6 LPA. Moreover, the mechanical engineering department reported a maximum placement rate at 129%. The National Institute of Technology Patna MTech fee range between INR 1.4 lakh and INR 6.3 lakh (inclusive of integrated course fee). Apart from this, candidates are also required to pay a one-time payment of INR 31,100 which includes, a development fee, caution money (refundable), admission processing fee and identity fee.
