No, you can not take admission to the MTech course at the Division of Mechanical Sciences, Indian Institute of Science, without the GATE exam. To be eligible for admission to the course at the college, the candidate has to score a minimum of 50% aggregate in graduation in a relevant stream from any recognised board. Eligible students will have to appear for the GATE exam and score a valid rank to be eligible for the course. There is no management quota or any other quota available at the college for direct admission.

Thus, to apply for the M.Tech course, candidates are required to apply for the course through the official website of the institute.
