Mass media is often confused to be related to news reading or reporting. But it actually has a wider range. It totally depends upon your interest and personal skills that make you choose your field. After completing your studies, you can be a PR, join an advertising company. Become a content writer for websites and blogs, news reporter or correspondent, photographer, editor, cinematographers, graphic designer, anchor, RJ or DJ. All that is required is your own interest and passion for doing a work and obviously skills.

MJMC in distance will only be helpful if you are a working professional in any media firm. IGNOU is the best option for distance education. There are many other institutions offering distance education for MJMC. But most of them require experience in some media firm. So after completing your graduation (in any stream) you need to join a media firm, be it a newspaper, radio or television.

Dear student,
I would suggest you Centre for Advanced Media Studies (CAMS) at Punjabi University, Patiala. The fee structure is quite less as compared to other public and private institutions. The department also works on some UGC sponsored projects. The university also provides hostel facility with nominal charges of Rs. 2100 for six months excluding food (with food it is approximately Rs. 2000 per month).
