Radio Jockeying as it looks like is not just about talking, it also includes music programming, scripting, presenting radio shows and lending voice to commercials, documentaries, etc. So one has to be very enthusiastic, confident, witty, spontaneous and creative. You need to have great inter-personal skills, clear diction and understand voice modulation. AIR holds auditions every three months and selected RJs are given training for two months and introduced to audio technology. Since BJMC is an undergraduate course, you should have cleared 10+2 examination from a recognised board. Your aggregate percentage needs to be at least 75 percent for general category. The merit based admission system in DU has changed and now you have to appear for a common entrance test in order to apply for Journalism and Mass Communication. The entrance exam generally takes place in the month of May-June.

Hi Aayush,
The career as a travel journalist is full of adventure and fun. But unfortunately there is no specific course for travel journalism in India. You can study Journalism at UG/PG level and look for jobs in travel sector or journals as a writer or a photographer, whichever interests you. You can apply for jobs in travel magazines and travel websites, once you are a graduate. You can also take up internships in travel sector to have maximum exposure.
