Journalism is the business of giving news. Journalists work for newspapers, magazines, regional dailies, the electronic medium, websites and for government & public sector publications.
Before you opt for journalism as a profession, I would advice you to match the skills required to become a journalist with the skills that you possess and check whether you fit the bill.

The curriculum of both the courses are absolutely same. So, there is no major difference between the two. It's just the names that differs in different institutes.
Since, both the courses are same, both will serve the same purpose. All that depends is the college or institute that you are pursuing it from.
