At GIBS Business School, GD and PI are just ways to understand you better — not just your marks.

In GD, they see how you talk in a group.
Are you confident?
Do you share good points?
Can you listen to others?

You don't have to dominate — just speak clearly and show positive attitude.

In PI, it's a simple one-to-one conversation. They ask about your background, goals, and why you want to join. They just want to see if you are genuine, confident, and serious about your career.

In very simple words —
GD checks how you behave in a team.
PI checks who you are as a person.

That's it. It's more about confidence and clarity than being perfect.

In my experience, classes are structured well, so I focus properly during lectures and complete assignments on time. I don't keep work pending. That really helps during exams.

For placements, preparation starts early here. We regularly have aptitude practice, mock interviews, presentations, and soft skills sessions. Because it's part of our routine, I never felt like I had to suddenly start preparing at the last minute.

Along with that, I also take part in club activities and events. Honestly, those activities helped me improve my confidence and communication skills. I usually manage extracurriculars after classes or during event days, w

GIBS Business School is unique compared to other B-schools because it blends firm discipline, an industry-oriented focus and holistic development. The students on-campus have a very professional environment that promotes corporate grooming and includes guest sessions on a regular basis, continuous skill development in addition to their academic enhancement. The student experience at GIBS is enhanced by the use of experiential learning through participation in live projects, internship opportunities, club participation, and leadership training as opposed to more conventionally-based lecture-type experiences associated with other schools

From my experience, the academic environment at GIBS Bangalore is well-balanced. There is proper discipline on campus, like regular attendance, punctuality, and following academic schedules seriously. At the same time, it doesn't feel too strict or stressful. Everything is managed in a structured way, which actually helps us stay focused.

The workload is manageable. Yes, we have assignments, presentations, case studies, and projects, but they are given in a planned manner. It keeps us busy and active, but not overwhelmed. Personally, I feel it helps us build consistency and time management skills.

When it comes to support, the faculty me

How the Faculty–Student Ratio Affects Mentorship at GIBS (Point Wise)

  • Having a balanced ratio

GIBS has an approximate student-to-professor ratio of 15:1, which helps promote faculty-student interaction.

  • Greater personal attention

The smaller number of students per professor allows professors the opportunity to work with students individually.

  •  Easier doubt clarification

With smaller ratios of students to faculty, it is much easier for students to communicate with faculty after classes should they have any doubt about a concept or assignment.

  •  A strong mentoring system
