If you have a graduation degree from a recognised university with minimum 50% and above marks, even if the degree is by distance learning, you are eligible to seek admission in full time MBA degree course.

Hello Divya.
First you need to know which entrance exam scores a particular government B-School accepts for its admission process. For example, JBIMS (Mumbai) accepts scores of CAT and CET exams. Then know what are the cut-offs of those colleges in general so that you can get an idea of how much you need to score in that exam. Finally, you need to appear for the interview rounds, if there is any, and perform well in it to improve your chances of getting admission.

No idea about CS, so can't comment. But for MBA, yes, the academic scores especially the graduation marks do matter as a lot of top B-Schools give significant weightage to them. During the interviews, one can be questioned about his graduation marks (if low). Also, once getting admitted into a particular B-School, there are companies who consider the graduation marks seriously while recruiting for summer and/or final placements.

Yes, you're right. Doing MBA from reputed institutes is always recommended as it means better job prospects, infrastructure, ROI, faculty and industry exposure. Any top company will always prefer visiting such colleges first for placements, thus offering them great pay packages.

PGDM is an autonomous programme which is approved by AICTE.
MBA is a programme which is affiliated to a university.
Colleges which offer AICTE approved courses will also offer PGDM not MBA.
Typically, if any PGDM is to be equivalent to MBA then the course duration should be 2 years, a 1 year PGDM will not be equal to an MBA course.
Even IIMs and XLRIs don't offer MBA degrees as they only give PGP Diploma or PGDM since they are autonomous and independent bodies.
Always see college's reputation and placement record instead of MBA and PGDM programme.
