PGDM is an institute autonomous programme which is approved by AICTE.
MBA is a programme which is affiliated to a university.
Colleges which offer AICTE approved courses will only offer PGDM not MBA.
Typically, if any PGDM is to be equivalent to MBA then the course duration should be 2 years, a 1 year PGDM will not be equal to an MBA course.
Even IIMs and XLRIs don't offer MBA degrees as they only give PGP Diploma or PGDM since, they are autonomous and independent bodies.
Always see college's reputation and placement record instead of MBA and PGDM programme.

Hello Divyansh,
All the MBA specialisations are unique in their own ways with their respective challenges and benefits. What matters is where your interests lie and career goals. Also, there is no rule that you need a specific degree to pursue MBA in a particular stream; B.Com guy can do MBA in Marketing/IT provided he's really serious about it.

Hello Souvik,
Both are unique in their own ways. It all depends upon where your interests lie and career goals. Opt for M.Sc if you're more inclined towards the technical field; networking, OS, software, databases, etc. Else go for MBA, if you want to make your career in the management field. For career growth and job prospects, MBA is better than M.Sc. You can pursue MBA in different streams like finance, marketing, HR, IT, operations, etc. as per your interests. A MBA/M.Sc degree has more value, only if done from a reputed B-school.

Law is a challenging course. It's also time taking.
It takes time to establish yourself after law. MBA is better in above aspects and also in terms of salary, provided you do an MBA in a reputed college and get placed.
However, finally, everything depends on your interest and passion.
All the best.

No. AIMA is not a university, it is an institute. An institute is allowed to offer diplomas and not a degree however, such degrees need to be approved by AICTE and also need to be given equivalent status by AIU to a PG degree in order to be eligible for applying in a government job specially teaching and research. AIMA PGDM is not an equivalent to MBA. It is not a full time program. So, you don't get placement facilities as far as MNC is concerned, if they are hiring through campus placement, you have no chance for lateral hiring, it depends if MNCs are asking full-time PGPM, you are not allowed, if they are asking a degree, you have n
