The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET), the required entrance exam for MBBS programs, is a part of the selection process for MBBS in India. To move on to the next phase, candidates must achieve a score higher than the National Testing Agency's (NTA) minimum cutoff percentile. All India Quota (AIQ) and State Quota are the two quotas used for admissions; 15% of seats are allotted to AIQ, and the remaining 85% are for the state quotas. Based on their NEET scores and preferences, candidates register for counseling, which entails multiple rounds of seat distribution determined by merit and preferences. Certain seats may be set aside with distinct admission requirements under the institutional and management quotas. 
The 50th percentile for the general category, the 45th percentile for the general category with disabilities, and the 40th percentile for the reserved categories, which include OBC, SC, and ST, are the minimum NEET percentiles needed for MBBS. Depending on the candidate's category, different minimum NEET scores are needed for admission to the MBBS program. The expected minimum scores for reserved categories are between 137 and 108, and for the general category, they range from 720 to 138.

Sri Devraj Urs Academy of Higher Education and Research is a good option for pursuing MBBS. The Malaysian Medical Council has granted recognition to the academy, and all undergraduate and graduate programs offered by the Faculty of Medicine are accredited. NIRF ranked Sri Devraj Urs Academy of Higher Education and Research 151st out of 200 Indian colleges in 2023.The curriculum is updated with the CBME curriculum established by NMC, and the teaching quality is good.In certain departments, such as ENT and medicine, patient exposure is also favorable. The placements are reasonable; the lowest package is approximately 6-7 LPA, while the highest package is up to 20 LPA.

While both ACS and MAHER offer excellent MBBS programs, the higher cut-off at ACS indicates a more competitive selection process. This means that prospective students will need to have strong academic credentials to even be considered for admission. Both colleges have decent placement records, with graduates getting placed in reputed hospitals and healthcare institutions across India. However, ACS might have a slight edge due to its well-established alumni network. MAHER is generally considered to be a more affordable option than ACS. ACS Medical College and Hospital is considered to be better than Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research.
