Both courses are considered as healthcare specialties. However, one of the commonest reason most people consider MBBS more prestigious than BDS is the sheer fact that an MBBS doctor studies and obtains a licence to treat general ailments of the entire human body.

It can range from Rs.30,000 per month for a doctor who has just finished his MBBS to as high as 2-3 Lacs per day for a highly accomplished super-specialist. An ex-professor of AIIMS had been offered around Rs. 12 crores per annum from a big corporate hospital. That's almost Rs. 3 Lacs per day.
