You are advised to appear in MCA entrance exams as you gave good chances to make it to a good college as you meet the eligibility criteria. Back history may not be a challenge in getting admission in MCA.

Both M.Sc in computer science & MCA are equally good courses. M.Sc CS students have a very good theoretical background of computer science subjects whereas MCA students have very good exposure on computer applications. Indian IT industry's primarily business and major revenue is from application development and support projects because of which MCA graduates have a minor edge over M.Sc CS graduates. I will suggest you evaluate and select degrees based on institute's reputation, brand image, and placement record.

MCA is a technical degree and MCM is a techno-managerial degree in the filed of computer applications.Therefore, MCM graduates are not eligible to teach MCA in good colleges.

Indian IT industry is slowing being challenged because of go-political and global economical changes. Therefore, it is preferable to do MCA from a regular university which has a good placement record. In case due to personal reasons, you are unable to do regular MCA then MCA from IGNOU is a good option.

IGNOU has announced admission for MCA starting in Jan 2017. You can download the application from the university website www.ignou.ac.in.
