You can't compare both the branch because both have their own field of work which are truly awesome. But if you are comparing both the branch in respect of jobs then I must say that you which have abundant of opportunities by having CSE degree in compare to mechanical, the starting amount of salary is much better then you get in mechanical. But if you have a good references then you can earn well in Mechanical would get placed at the post of J. E and would be easily promoted to Production Manager in 45yr. None of the branch is easy and have their own challenges so I must say that choose it by checking your interest because Interest really matter while doing engineering. Choose CSE if you love to do something with computers, software, programme, application but if you love machines then choose ME. Engineering is all about passion of doing something new and extraordinary. Now choosing a right college or university is another task, If you choose a right university, then only you can get complete success. The medical requirements of GEIMS for GME course are given below.
Physical Standards: Candidates should be medically and physically fit for sea service as per STCW 95/MS Medical rules 2000 as applicable to seafarers. Candidates will have to undergo a full medical check up as per the practicing doctor approved by DG Shipping.
Eyesight: Distance vision (unaided): 6/12 in each eye; or 6/9 in better eye and 6/18 in other eye. Normal colour vision. Candidates will have to undergo a full eyesight test by a Company Medical Officer.
So in my opinion you are not eligible nut for more confirmation please take a fair advise from a Doctor regarding this against the eyesight standard as defined above.

C-DAC conducts two batches of asked PGD course (starting in February and August) of six months duration during the year. Admission to this program is done through a national level admission test named C-DAC's Common Admission Test (C-CAT).
Eligibility criteria :
1. Graduate in Engineering (10+2+4 or 10+3+3 years) in IT /Computer Science /Electronics / Telecommunications / Electrical / Instrumentation. OR MSc/ MS (10+2+3+2 years) in Computer Science, IT, Electronics. OR

3. The candidates must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in their qualifying examination.
