Admissions through lateral entry for Direct Second Year B TECH/B.E. for various courses at Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI,Mumbai) are done through Centralized Admission Process that is conducted by State CET Cell, Maharashtra State through its portal https://cetcell.mahacet.org/
For admission in direct second year, the candidate should have passed diploma course in engineering & technology in appropriate branch of engineering with at least 45% marks (For general candidate). So Diploma in Mechanical candidates can not be considered for admission in B.Tech/ B.E CSE.

Yes, you are eligible for Aeronautical engineering. For Aeronautical Engineering :

Doing mechanical engineering opens many fields including automobile, I am saying this because my friends did the mechanical engineering from LPU and are doing different job in this field at MNCs. Automotive Engineering is an amalgamation of mechanical, electrical, and materials science.
