If you're a Diploma student from outside Karnataka applying for lateral entry into B.E./B.Tech in Bangalore, the following colleges could be considered:

1. R. V College of Engineering – Offers good placements; however, limited and tough lateral entry admissions.

2. BMS College of Engineering – Academic standards are high with decent placements too.

3. M. S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology – Renowned for its Computer Science and Information Technology streams.

As far as I know, Thapar hasn't announced the 2026 lateral entry admission schedule yet. The best option is to keep checking the admissions page regularly because they usually post all updates there first. Applications for 2026 admissions are already open, so the lateral entry notification should come soon.
You can also call the admissions helpline directly. They'll give the latest update much faster than waiting for the website to update. 😄
