There are many job options after polytechnic or if you want to do graduation then you need to do 12th.
However, the better option is BE/B.Tech in your stream.

Hi there,
With a rank of 15420, you can easily get Mechanical engineering for sure even if you fall in general category, however if you are from reserved category, in that case you can also get CSE & ISE branch. I hope you have got your answer.

If you want get admission in b.tech mechanical so you can easily apply in any college of b.tech by showing your diploma mark-sheet.
If you have your diploma mark-sheet, then it doesn't matter whether you have completed your 12th or not.

DY Patil College of Engineering, Akurdi is a good College. Comes in Top Colleges of Pune. It's NAAC Accredited with 'A' Grade. Established in 1984 it is one of the best colleges in Pune. The Mechanical Department was Accredited twice by NBA in year 2003 and 2008. Overall it's a good choice if you are getting it. You can get more details on website of DYPCOE.
