Mechanical Engineering

I guess both the university are great and well known. But as I am a student of LPU I know much better about it that LPU is best for this course. They have everything we students could ask for. The school of mechanical engineering has well-qualified labs and experienced faculty members, mostly all of them from IIITs, NITs, IIITs, and that too they usually PHDs. They have also specialisation in various fields like, Aerospace Engineering, Automobile Engineering, CAD/CAM, Engineering Design, Manufacturing Technology, Metallurgy, Robotics, Thermal Engineering, etc. Their Department is known for offering innovative Live Projects that helps students in providing technical exposure while developing state of the art applications. A team of engineering students of LPU bagged Level One Position at Delta Automation Contest-2017 in China in a tough competition with 75 teams from across Asia. In another FEAT ME students of LPU designed a futuristic Formula One Racing Car and grabbed 2nd position at SAEINDIA 2017, Noida. And When it comes to placements, There are more than 100+ companies that are coming to LPU for the recruitment of mechanical students. The packages vary from 3 Lacs to 12 Lacs per annum. On average, the packages are 5 Lacs in a very core company which gradually sees a couple of rapid promotions based on your handwork. Students of Mechanical engineering are placed in Honda, VOLTAS, XL Dynamics, Anglo-Eastern Ship Management, Hero MotoCorp, Hyundai Constructions, and many more. The highest package availed is 31 LPA by Codenation. Rs 7.9 LPA from Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India and Rs 7.5 LPA from Wilmar. So I guess this says all, Hope this will help you.

For mechanical engineering, Chandigarh university is very good option. Faculty Wise
Mechanical department has best of the faculty I guess in whole north of India University as most of the faculty members are Ph.D. Holders from reputed institutes. They all are so helpful not only in providing education but also helping you to excel in various research fields. Moreover they will guide you how to crack PIs GATE and have some good patents
Infrastructure
Mechanical department at CU has the best of the Infrastructure
as they have well-equipped labs and workshops. On the top of it few labs are also developed in collaboration with industrial tie ups like HONDA lab, Mahindra & Mahindra T school, Flexible manufacturing system lab (First in north India). Students are given the access to labs till late night hours so that they can work on their projects without hassles. Placements

Mechanical engineering in CU is a 4 years a programme having specialisation in Thermal, design & Production. Whats good about the programme is that they have included aptitude and soft skill training session in the curriculum only so that students match same skill set as per requirement of the industry.
