The only drawback with this college is that they fail to provide with 100% batch placement.
Considering the placement report of 2016 of Anna University in mechanical branch almost 75 students got placed while 10% student went on for the further studies abroad. Some of the companies that make round during placement season are:

Vedanta Resources - 7 students ( approximately. 9 Lacs per annum)
Reliance Chemicals- 11 students (approximately. 6 Lacs PA)
Honeywell - 2 students ( approximately 12 Lacs PA)
Schlumberger - 2 Students (approximately 8 LPA)
Thermax - 2 students (approximately 7 LPA)
H. P. L - 4 students (approximately 6 LPA)
Ingersoll rand - 2 students (approximately 6 LPA)
Hindustan Unilever - 3 students ( approximately 8 Lacs)
Students have received roles in operations, supply chain management, field engineering and procurement. Out of 100 students, total 76 got placed with an average of 4 LPA and 35 got core placements.

There are not many core companies that come for the placement for mechanical engineering since the team has not been updated with industry tie-ups, it generally uses alumni connect for placements which make them very mediocre.
65% of the students were placed. The highest package given was of 7.5LPA and the lowest was 1 5LPA. Some prominent recruiters are given below:

Faculty and infrastructure are world class anyway at VJTI with some industry heads and gurus for guest lectures. VJTI is heritage and legacy brand and holds high esteem in rankings. Mechanic engineering has attracted nearly best placements. Average Package is 6 LPA. The packages are great with the highest package goes around 26LPA. Some top organizations like Siemens, Mercedes, Suzuki, Hyundai, DRDO, HAL, ABB, Ultratech Cement, Bharat Forge, Hindustan Copper, Bajaj, Havells, Philips, Tata Power, Samsung, Nokia, Aditya Birla, Reliance Oil and Gas and numerous others come to campus. The average package lies in the range of 7.5 LPA CTC. Companies like Amazon, Zomato, Pepperfry, Cisco, Oracle, Jpmorgan, Morgan stanley, Microsoft, Flipkart, Intuit, Makemytrip, Fractal Analytics, Relinace Industry, Tata Consultancy, Lodha Developers, Runwal group, Larsen and Toubro, Thermax, Ingersoll rand, Toyota, Fedex, Exxon Mobil, Shell, Bharat Forge etc. A lot more recruit the students. In 2016, the percentage of total students placed was 96.7%. For mechanical department, it was 94.8% for in 2015 and 98.5% in 2016. Talking about the companies that come for recruiting there are reputed names like Volvo, TVS, Larsen and Turbo, Hyundai, Bajaj and PSUs like NTPC, SAIL, BHEL, ISRO, Visakhapatnam Steel, NPCIL. Average salary fro mechanical engineering lies around 6-8 Lacs (approximately). But some students also opt for roles in IT/CS and management as such.
