I have asked my friend at Thapar Institute. According to him,
mechanical engineering is good as compared to ECE as it is a core branch, and faculty and placements are also good in Thapar.
Best of luck.

Hello Vadiraja,
It's great to know that you have already set your eyes on your goal. Good. First and most importantly, you must be thorough in your studies and have a good academic record. If your record right from 10th is good then it's an added advantage. However a word of caution. There are many nuances for achieving success. Hence I would advise you to approach an agency dealing with sending students abroad for MS.
Best wishes.
