Mechatronics Engineering

Mechatronics is a field of engineering that includes study with a combination of various engineering disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, telecommunication, control and computer engineering. The aim of mechatronics is a design process that unifies all the above disciplines of engineering. Automation and Robotics Engineering has become one of the top most career choices among the aspirants. It is an independent branch of engineering, where robotics deals with design, construction, operation, and application of robots. Basically, this field puts emphasis on the design of modern Robotic systems. Like many other engineering disciplines, Automation and Robotics Engineering has greatly influenced human Automation and Robotics technology provides industrial automation solutions with view to augment production process. Keeping the present and future scenario of Indian industries, The automation and robotics engineering is much demanding branch of engineering for industries. Hence, my choice is Automation and Robotics Engineering.

Mechatronics is one of the emerging trends in Engineering. Mechatronics is the synergic combination of mechanical, electrical, electronics, computer Science and information technology, which includes control systems used to design products with built-in intelligence. Mechatronics engineering course blends the pertinent aspects of mechatronics system modeling, sensors, actuators, controllers and real-time computer interfacing. The course focuses on all the topics needed to develop a good understanding of the basic principles used in mechatronics engineering. This programme at SRMUH aims to equip graduates and postgraduates of interdisciplinary engineering knowledge required for the development of highly-intelligent products, microsystems, automation techniques, and robotic devices, in order to meet the challenges of automation required in industries, transportation, medical, household and unmanned environments. The department, apart from the undergraduate programme, is engaged in many other activities such as industrial consultancy, industrial training, research, organizing seminars, and conferences. The department is well-equipped with various mechatronics, control system, instrumentation, microprocessor and automation Lab, etc. Under this course, it is planned to visit NASA, (American Space Agency) the USA and ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) Srihari Kotak, A.
