NEET exam is only to get admission for MBBS and BDS courses. So, for veterinary science there is no need to write NEET exam.
The basic eligibility for this course is10+2 with subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with a minimum of 50% in aggregate from CBSE/ICSE/State Board or equivalent. Students who have appeared in 10+2 or any other intermediate level examination and are awaiting results, can also apply for the program and can be admitted on a provisional basis.
Admission to most veterinary colleges is on the basis of results obtained in the entrance examination conducted by the concerned universities. Veterinary Council of India conducts an 'All India Common Entrance examination' (AICEE) for admission to first year Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) & Animal Husbandry (AH) degree course for filling up 15% of the total number of seats of each veterinary college of all states. This Entrance exam is usually held in the month of May. For admission to Master's degree programme, an All India Entrance Examination is conducted by the Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR).
