Cosmetology and Dermatology are often confused with one another. Cosmetology is much in demand as compared to dermatology because more and more people nowadays are beauty conscious and spend lot of money on the same while there are lesser number of people who suffers from any disease relating to skin,hair, nail etc. Dermatologist mainly works in hospitals, clinics etc. while cosmetologist works in saloon spa, beauty parlor etc. I believe the basic difference is that dermatologist is a health expert and comes into picture when you suffer from any illness and a cosmetologist is a beauty professional which has nothing to do with illness.
