NExT exam may be held in 2026. Candidates expect NMC to provide clarity regarding NExT MBBS exam. According to National Exit Test Regulations the exam will be held twice a year. AIIMS will be conducting exam in two steps, one theory based and another practical. MBBS students will have to qualify NExT Step 1 to appear for internship. Those who qualify NExT Step 1 can appear for NExT Step 2. Candidates will have to score minimum 50% marks or half of the maximum possible raw scores in each six papers to qualify for NExT Step 1.

While the admissions are based on the scores/rank obtained in NEET exam, the last cut-offs also change a lot depending on All India quota or Home State.
