Job in the core industry which is metallurgy, in this case, you have to maintain your CGPA above 7-8 depending upon the company you are shortlisted for and to the extent for my memory serves, I didn't see any core company in metallurgy in my season. Do we really have this industry in India? If you are looking for a job in any high-paying company just like 90% other IITians, you have to sit for several written or online exams where your specialisation doesn't matter at all except in some cases but they don't really constitute significantly. Perhaps it is not so impressive in terms of the placements and exposure you will get from COEP is just fairly decent. Here are some statistical insights of the college. Placements Scenarios:-
Metallurgy Engineering
Average package:- 3.2 Lacs
the highest package:- 16lakhs by Shell
Median package:- 4.5 Lacs
Although only 50% students got placed which is not attractive, hence Metallurgy Engineering is not recommended for COE Pune.
