This is a government institute and admissions are based on the centralised admission process of the Maharashtra government conducted by Directorate of Technical Education. Ranking obtained in centralised examination called MHT CET that is conducted for admissions to various engineering colleges in the state of Maharashtra is the basis for admissions to all the branches including metallurgical not only in COPE, Pune but all the colleges in Maharashtra.
