Being a B.Tech graduate, I think operation will be a very good choice for you. Rather than that, it is all about personal choice & interest. In every college, in the first year, you have to study every subject. Then in the next year, you can choose according to your comfortability.

Hello Paramveer,
I think CSE in Chitkara University is far better than metallurgical engineering from PEC. CSE has become one of the fastest growing and most popular programs worldwide. There are numerous job opportunities in CSE, that's why It's considered one of the most high-paying jobs in a current industry. Chitkara has a good reputation for its engineering programs.

Future scope in metallurgy and material science is really bright. It has a lot of scope in the steel industry and other metal industries. The timing could not be better after India has signed recent contracts with Boeing and Airbus under the "Make In India" initiative. You have to aim for the best institutes to pay for the dividends.

Hello,
I think you are asking about self-supporting courses (SS) as there is no self-study course.
The fee structure for self-supporting courses is around 52,000/- per annum for CSE, robotics and fashion technology.
While it is around 57,000/- for courses like civil, metallurgy, mechanical, IT and ECE.
The regular course fee structure is just 20000-25000 per annum only.
The above mentioned fee is only the tuition fees. You need to pay an additional fee for hostel requirements which will be 6 occupants for boys with around 70000 per annum.

B.Tech consumes a lot of money whereas B.Sc takes nominal charges which you can afford. B.Tech degree has no value if it is done from a private college.

Both fields denoted by you are opposite to each other. If your aim is to join IAS than forget everything. Just complete your graduation and start preparing for UPSC. It will require a lot of focused energy. So you can go ahead with B.Sc. In the meantime while the course of your graduation develop a habit of reading extensively. Keep watch on all the events whether national, international or regional. Let yourself gain maximum knowledge of general studies along with your B.Sc subjects. Most importantly keep faith in yourself.
