In the book by Dubey and Maheshwari, there is a little less explanation of specific topics, especially the general microbiology part. Whereas, the book by Ananthanarayan and Paniker, is presented in a simple understanding language and manner. This book is more useful, hence I would suggest you to go for this one.

Go for microbiology as it will give you more options in future when you start searching for jobs. Biotechnology will narrow down your future path and it will be difficult to get good job after post graduation. While microbiology gives you wider prospects in especially government jobs.
