Yes, it is. For admission to M.Sc, you have to first clear the IIT JAM exam. JAM exam is conducted for admission in IITs, NITs, or IISc to pursue M.Sc (four semesters).

Why do you want to buy a microscope? Doing microbiology experiment is ethically not right.
