Seven Islands Maritime Training Institute offers several certificate courses. Diploma in Nautical Sciences (DNS) is one of the flagship courses provided at SIMTI. The seat intake for the SIMTI DNS course is 160. DNS is offered in full-time mode in affiliation to Indian Maritime University (IMU). Interested candidates must appear for the IMU-CET entrance exam.

The Neotia University BSc in Nautical Science is a three-year course, further divided into six semesters. The course structure is based on the Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS). Each subject included in the course curiculum carries certain credit points. Some subjects inlcuded in the course curriculum are Marine Engineering Control Systems, Nautical Physics, Nautical Electronics, Ship Operating Techniques, etc.

To get admission into the DNS (Diploma in Nautical Science) course at the Indian Maritime University (IMU), you cannot get direct admission by paying fees alone. The admission process involves:
Entrance Exam: You are required to appear for the IMU Common Entrance Test (CET), which is conducted for admission to the DNS course.
