If you want to join the navy after the tenth class, you can seek the Matric Entry Recruitment of the Indian Navy. Generally, under this Matric Entry, the SAILOR and some Artificer Apprentice roles are open for an applicant. Then, candidates need to go through the Written Exam, Physical Fitness Test, and Medical Examination. The age limit for the same is 17 to 20 years with a corresponding qualification of 60 percent marks in Class 10. For notifications, you can check the official Navy recruitment website. After Class 12, you can also expect the NDA (National Defence Academy) exam for entry into the navy as an officer.

Even if you have flunked in 2 Science exams twice you can study and join the Merchant Navy as an officer. Your current PCM score of 76 is good enough to start with and bring the desired changes. To become a deck officer one has to undergo a 3-year (link unavailable) B.Sc Nautical Science course, ranging from INR 4,00,000 to INR 6,00,000. You will also require passing the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by IMU- Indian Maritime University. No nationality condition has been placed for taking up any course (s) of training in Indian Merchant Navy; one has to only fulfill educational and medical requirements for that course. The minimum height requirement for the Merchant Navy is 157 cm for males, with a relaxation of up to 5 cm for candidates from hilly areas or the northeastern region of India. For females, the minimum height requirement is 145 cm, with a similar relaxation. The weight should be proportionate to the height and age, and the chest should have a minimum 5 cm expansion. Candidates must also have a well-developed constitution with no evidence of weak muscles or malnutrition.
