Graduation in Marine Engineering: Eligibility
The minimum criteria of eligibility for this course are divided between two main requirements- educational and medical.
Educational Qualifications
BE/ B.Tech degree holders in mechanical or naval architecture disciplines are eligible to pursue this course. Minimum marks criteria may exist in the case of some institutes. Generally, the minimum eligible score for admission lies between 50-60% aggregate marks in the BE/ B.Tech programme.
Medical/ Physical Standards
Candidates aspiring for the course need to be physically fit and capable of taking up seafaring roles. An unaided vision of 6/12 is required in each eye. Candidates should not be suffering from color or night blindness. Also, the candidate should not be over 28 years of age at the time of the commencement of the courses.
Graduation in Marine Engineering: Admission Process
The admission procedure varies from institute to institute. Eligible candidates may apply through any of online and offline modes. Also, some institutes have their own entrance exams in place for candidates assessment. There are also institutes in the country that offer direct admission on the basis of merit or a candidates score against a pre- set minimum cut-off score.

10+2 Tech:

Qualification: 10+2 or equivalent with PCM 70% aggregate
Age limit: 16-19 years
University Entry Scheme:
Examination: None/direct entry
Qualification: A degree in Electrical/ Electronic/ Power/Instrumentation control/ Telecommunication & Power System Engineering with 60% up to 6th semester
Age limit: 19-24 years
Short Service Commission
Law Cadre (Men and Women):
Examination: None/direct entry
Qualification: A degree in law under the Advocate Act 1961 with minimum 55%
Age limit: 22-27 years
Air Traffic Control (ATC):
