There is no provision for candidates belonging to the OBC Creamy layer for the NEST examination. Only provision is there for OBC Non-Creamy Layer (NCL), SC, ST, EWS and PWD candidates. All the candidates falling under the OBC creamy layer category are considered under the general category and no reservations are provided to such candidates.

Yes! Mock tests are practised to identify where one stands during the preparation period. If you get fewer marks, you will get to identify the topics that you need to give more time. Once, you start working on the weak subjects and topics and get relevant marks in your mock test then you are ready to appear for the entrance exam.

The total seats available for the Integrated MSc programme at NISER and UMDAE CEBS are 200 and 57, respectively.  Other backward classes belonging to the Non–Creamy Layer (OBC–NCL): 27 per cent of seats are reserved for OBC–NCL. The class should have been mentioned in the central list of OBCs. If offered admission under the OBC-NCL category, the candidate must produce the relevant valid certificate on the date of admission.

The NEST entrance exam is one of the toughest exams among all the science entrance exams according to the previous years' exam analysis. Candidates should invest a minimum of six months of NEST Preparation to score well in the NEST exam. However, if the candidate preparation strategy is really good then 2 to 3 months would be sufficient.

The National Entrance Screening Test is generally tougher than NEET, but some sections in NEET, like Biology, are more challenging due to the vast syllabus coverage and competition. Based on last year's analysis for NEET, the difficulty level was very high. Compared to the NEET, last year NEST was easier.
