The NEST entrance exam is one of the toughest exams among all the science entrance exams according to the previous years' exam analysis. Candidates should invest a minimum of six months of NEST Preparation to score well in the NEST exam. However, if the candidate preparation strategy is really good then 2 to 3 months would be sufficient.

Read the following points to understand the ways to prepare for the mock test.

  • Make important points and mark important topics in your revision notes.

  • Ensure you get some leisure time along with studying to avoid stress.

  • Make a revision schedule. 

  • Practise previous year's question papers.

The National Entrance Screening Test (nest) is generally tougher than NEET but some sections in NEET, like Biology, are more challenging due to vast syllabus coverage and competition.

Candidates seeking admission to NISER and UM–DAE CEBS for the Integrated MSc programme 2024–29 should be from the regular science stream in classes 11 and 12.

  • It is mandatory for all aspiring candidates to write the NEST 2024 examination.
  • Candidates must have passed the class 12 examination from any recognised Board in India in the years 2023 or 2024 or should be appearing for the same in 2025.

Besides, top performers at NISER and UM-DAE CEBS, securing overall grades above a certain threshold at the end of the programme, are eligible to appear directly for the interview for admission to the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) training school. The candidates admitted to the programme are eligible to receive an annual scholarship of Rs 60,000 through the DISHA program of the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. In addition, the scholarship recipients receive a grant of Rs 20,000 per annum for summer internships. Candidates selected by DST for the INSPIRE-SHE program are endorsed for the INSPIRE scholarship by NISER and UM-DAE CEBS. Here are some important points candidates must remember on the day of exam.

  • Candidates must reach the test venue at least 90 minutes before the examination commences. 
  • The examination is 3 hours and 30 minutes in duration.
  • It will start at 9:00 AM for the first session and 2:30 PM for the second session.
  • Candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination hall after 9:30 AM and 3:00 PM for the respective sessions.
  • The earliest a candidate can leave the examination hall is 11 AM and 4:30 PM for the respective sessions unless it becomes necessary to leave earlier on medical grounds.
