To be considered for a merit rank, a candidate must meet two requirements:

1. Score equal to or above the Section-wise Minimum Admissible Score (SMAS) in all sections.
2. Achieve a total Minimum Admissible Percentile (MAP) as follows:
    - General category: 95 percentile
    - OBC category: 90 percentile
    - SC/ST/Divyangjan category: 75 percentile

If a candidate fails to meet the MAP, they will not be allocated a merit rank or considered eligible for admission, even if they achieve SMAS in all sections. This is considered a good score in NEST exam and student gets entry. Though the scores does not guarantees
