Actually, they evaluate general rank
Category rank is of no use.
Category people get admission on basis of general rank only, they have less cutoff in general rank.

If your home state is not Delhi, then all India OBC rank will be considered and if your home state is Delhi, then your state OBC rank will be considered, as it has reservation of 85% of seats for Delhi students. You can see the closing rank on the link http://jacdelhi.nic.in

Both DTU and NSIT are Excellent. But if suggested, 1st priority to DTU and 2nd to NSIT. If you got admission in any one take it without hesitation.

Yes, you may get EC or IC in DTU or IT in NSIT as per last year cutoff.
So keep these institute with mentioned branches at top priority while choice filling to get the early benefits of selection in the 1-3 round.

I am having ECE in DTU and currently, I am in the 3rd year. If you are really interested in doing technical stuff and seeks a good lab for your research then go to NSIT. But if you are wishing for the good placement and want to experience a good college life then DTU is more than awesome. Also, there are various technical societies and technical teams, if you will perform well there then DTU is much better to opt.

There are 14 different branches in DTU from computer engineering to production which includes ranking up to 32000 for OBC. It depends on your rank that which branch you get.

The available scholarship in NSIT and DTU is on NSP website.
You can visit there www.scholarships.gov.in or www.nsp.gov.in.
Various scholarship for SC/ST/OBC are available but there is no scholarship program related to 12th %.
