Newcastle follows the UCAS deadline for Undergraduate programs universities and makes all their offers by early May. However, some students may receive offers before this closing date. The university aims to release its decisions within 15 working days for postgraduate programs. Decisions may be delayed for some courses, or if there is a surge of applicants.

There are two primary intakes each academic year for undergraduate programs. The major intake period for all Undergraduate programs is semester 1, typically in February/March. Additionally, a select number of programs offer admissions for semester 2, also known as the mid-year intake, which usually starts in late July each year.
