NIT

It depends on your category and home state. If you are from a small state having less population then you will definitely get a seat in NIT. You will also get a seat in the topmost branch of any top NIT if you are under SC or ST category. Therefore, it is better to wait.

In NITs only central government caste certificate is valid.

Your chances of getting admission in NIT with 70% in Mains are really less as the cutoff goes very high every year, but you can still wait and hope for the admission.

As it is a well reputed and recognized institute, and it also has many great placement plans and record from past many years, so it will be a great option to opt for.

You can get NIT Srinagar, NIT kurukshetra, NIT hamirpur, NIT rourkela, eastern side nits, home state NIT, etc. But in csab rounds. No chance in JoSAA rounds.

Chances are very less in JoSAA rounds, but you can try in CSAB rounds. You may get lower NITS like NIT Kurukshetra, NIT Hamirpur, NKT Srinagar, eastern side NITS & may be your home state NIT.

Actually, it depends. Best thing you can do is go for counselling. Often students who don't get seats in the first rounds get their desired seat in the last rounds.

It is a tough choice to make, but I would have chosen NIT JAMSHEDPUR any day over BIT MESRA. See in the end it would be a NIT, and also don't expect much difference in academics in both institutes and also as far as I know there are also chances of PSU placement in NIT. So, go for it. You can get lower NITs like NIT Srinagar, Eastern Side NITS, NIT kurukshetra, NIT Hamirpur, etc. in CSAB rounds.
