It will be tough for someone with a 62k overall rank and 18k OBC rank in JEE Mains 2024 to get CSE in the high ranking NITs or IITs. Though you can expect some chances at lower NITs or GFTIs in branches of CSE or allied disciplines other than the main stream (like IT or software). The NITs that you are referring to the likes of NIT Agartala, NIT Sikkim or the more recent ones should be able to provide CSE reservation under OBC. As for GFTIs, the likes of IIITDM Kurnool, Assam University, Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology etc. could be tried. For more understanding, keep a watch on the JoSAA counselling.

Candidates scoring 95 percentile in JEE Main can get multiple NITs. This percentile ranges between 60,000 and 90,000 owing to which it is qualifying for most of the NITs. You can get entrances to mid tier NITs and a few bottom some also based on branch/campus. The top NITs we know of, like NIT Trichy or NIT Warangal, would have kept your CAP I, but other prestigious places should be in the range. Always refer to the latest cutoff trends & do participate in this counseling for a better chance of admission.

It could be difficult to get into a prominent NIT with an OBC rank of 75,955 in JEE Mains 2024 because popular branches and NITs typically have significantly lower cutoff ranks. On the other hand, some NITs or less popular or recent branches might give you a chance. Engaging in the counseling process is essential, as is looking at all of your options—including private institutions and state quotas. To gain further clarification, one might examine the distinct cutoff patterns for different NITs.

Scoring 94 percentile in JEE Main, admission to an NIT (National Institute of Technology) can be tough and that too for popular branches Computer Science where the cut-off closes within top ranks. As a general rule, NITs have had cutoff ranks in the region of 10k to 20 k for various branches. The rank corresponding to a 94 percentile can be around here depending on the year and branch. However, for branches less competitive or NITs having lower cutoff ranks you may have a chance. One should refer to individual NIT cutoffs for the year.

Even if you fall into the ST category, your prospects of getting into an NIT are extremely slim with a JEE Main percentile of 48.0513547. Because NITs typically have high cutoff percentiles, admission is typically denied for scores below the 50th percentile. It is advisable to look at alternative engineering programs or universities before applying.
