Now that education system has scrapped the board marks. So, certainly cutoffs will be uplifted. You have to score at least 100, but aim high.

It depends on NIT branch and your category. A general category student can get admission for CS in MNIT, Jaipur with around 200 marks.

Both are national importance engineering institute but they have different entrance exam for admission. Like as in nit, JEE main and in IIT, you need to crack JEE advance.

NITs are national importance institutes for education in field of engineering. These are second best option for doing engineering after IITs.

Old NITs are the best. Some of the top level NITs are MNIT, Allahabad & NIT, Warangal. IISC, Bangalore is also famous as it has good placement. IIT Roorkee is famous for its civil branch. IIT Kanpur and Bombay are at the top level. New IITs are not good in terms of placements and facilities.

IITs are the most sought after technical Institutes in India with international fame and brand. Students for IIT are selected on the basis of JEE Advanced. Legacy, IITs have the world class faculty, facilities and infrastructure. As best of Indian talent gets admission in IIT their placements is the best.
NITs were earlier known as Regional Engineering College. Though not as good as IITs, they are also excellent institutes for engineering. NITs select students based on JEE Main.
